Education as a faculty was oriented on the premise that an architect is one of the responsible agents of societal change. Every exercise was oriented to shape a reflective and critical outlook based on visual responsiveness. Transformation of solids and voids and use dimensions as modular units of space-making was explored. This was combined with the rigorous learning of the skills and discipline necessary in the profession of architecture. Architectural representation was introduced as both method of communication and tool for design thinking.
This two-fold orientation and a well-developed pedagogical method was to elevate the school to become an outstanding centre of Architectural thought, Research and Learning.
